ලයිබීරියාව කියන්නේ ඇමරිකාව විසින් බටහිර අප්‍රිකාවේ ආරම්භ කරපු ජනපදයක්. ඇමරිකාවේ කලු ජාතික වහල්ලුන්ට ගිහිල්ල නිදහසේ ජීවත් වෙන්න පුලුවන් වෙන්න තමා ඒක ඇතිකරේ. ඒ උනත් ලයිබීරියානු සිවිල් යුද්ධ කාලේදි සිද්ධවෙච්ච මිනිස් සංහාරය නවත්තන්න ඇමරිකාව මැදිහත් නොවුනේ ලයිබීරියානු වෙරල පේන මායිමේ යුධ නැව් ගනනාවක්ම නවතා තිබියදී. අන්තිමට මිනිස්සු තමන්ගෙ රට හදපු, තමන් ඉහලින් සලකන ඇමරිකාවේ අවධානය ගන්න තමන්ගේ මැරුණු නෑදෑයන්ගේ මලමිණී ගෙනත් ඇමරිකානු තානාපති කාර්යාලය ඉස්සරහ ගොඩ ගැහුවා. මේ ඡායාරූපයෙන් පෙන්නන්නේ ඒ අවස්තාව.
Liberia is a colony founded by USA where black slaves could go and live freely. Ironically it was the USA which stood by with warships on shore and failed to intervene to either prevent or protect the indiscriminate slaughter of Liberians who looked up to the USA as it founder, protector and model. In a desperate appeal, the relatives of the dead pile their deceased loved ones at the gates of the USA embassy in the Liberian Capital Monrovia.
