යාපනෙන් නාගදීපයට - From Jaffna to Naagadeepa

යාපනයේ සිට නාගදීපයට යන ගමනේදී ඇස ගැටුණු සොඳුරු දසුනක්. යාපනේ ඉඳන් නාගදීපයට ගිය ගමනේ මග දෙපස අලංකාරය කියා නිම කරන්න බෑ. අපි ගියේ වැහි කාලය ඉවර වුණු ගමන්ම වගේ. මේ විදිහේ පොඩි පොඩි ජලාශ හැමතැනම. වටපිටාව කොල පාටින් බැබලෙනවා. යාපන අර්ධද්වීපයම එකම තැනිතලාවක්. හැතැක්ම ගානක් ඈත දේ බලන්න පුලුවන්. පායන කාලෙට මේවා හොඳට කර වෙන බව අපේ වාහනේ රියදුරු අය්යා කිව්ව. කෙසේ වෙතත් යාපනේ සිට නාගදීපයට ගිය 20km විතර දුර අමතක නොවන් අත්දැකීමක්.

this is a scenery on out way to Nagadeepa from Jaffna. it is indescribable the beauty of what we saw. it is almost just after the rainy season. there was lot of small lakes made up with rain water. everywhere shining with green trees, and grass. whole Jaffna peninsula is a plain. you can see miles ahead of you. driver told us that in the dry season this will be really dry. however the 20 km trip was one of the unforgettable trips of my life

මතක සටහන් - Memories

යාපනේ ගමනෙදි දැක්ක ගරාවැටුනු පිළිගැනීමේ පුවරුවක්. මේක තිබුනේ කොටින් විසින් පුපුරවා විනාශ කරපු මට නම මතක නැති පාලමක් ලඟ. එතන තිබුනා අපේ හමුදාවේ මුරපොලක්. ඒ අය්යලා අපිට ඒ පලාත ගැන ගොඩක් විස්තර කිව්වා. මට පව් කියල හිතුන. තමන්ගේ සගයන් මිස වෙන කතා කරන්න සින්හලයෙක් පැත්ත පලාතක නැතිව මාර පාලු ඇති. තව ටික කාලෙකින් ගොඩක් සිංහල කට්ටිය එයි, ඊට පස්සෙ මේ වගේ විස්තර කියල දෙන්න ගිහාම එපා වෙයි කියල අපි කිව්ව.

a broken welcome board we saw in jaffna. it was located near a bridge that had blasted by LTTE. i cant remember the name of the bridge. there was a army check point there. soldiers explained a lot about the bridge and the battle happened around that area. i felt sad for them for not having anyone to talk to except their fellow soldiers. i assured them that there will be lot of sinhalese very soon and they will get tired explaining.
